The April 12th program will present a special treat for you. Bob will conduct the first half of the concert, and we are delighted to bring Dr. Robyn Bell, as guest conductor, to the podium following intermission.

She has been the conductor and artistic director of the Sarasota Pops Orchestra, at Neal Auditorium, since 2011. No doubt, Bob will elaborate further on her professional career as a Professor of Music. It will also be a thrill for the band members to make music under her direction. I am sure many of you have attended some of her concerts held at Neil Auditorium. We are honored to have her join the Suncoast Concert Band as guest conductor.

Robyn has selected compositions involving the Joy of Spring which is the theme for this concert. You will be uplifted with her exhilarating talent and infectious personality.

Along with many other selections, Bob will conduct “The Two Little Bulfinches” featuring Michael Berndt and Patti Preves as the piccolo soloists.
